PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoepilator capable of safe depilation by securely preventing light leakage. SOLUTION: The photoepilator includes a device body 1 having a light source part 20 and a light application port 3 for applying a light emitted from the light source part 20; a cylindrical shading part 6 disposed at a location surrounding the light application port 3 of the device body 1; and a photosensor 12 disposed to detect penetration of outside light into the shading part 6.
