摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal device preventing disordered alignment of a liquid crystal due to division of substrates even when a liquid crystal dripping method is used, and preventing an adverse influences on the liquid crystal even when an uncured sealant comes into contact with the liquid crystal. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device using a liquid crystal dripping method, a scribe groove is provided for at least one of a pair of substrates with a diamond cutter or the like prior to laminating the pair of substrates under reduced pressure. The scribe groove is formed to a cutting depth such that the substrate is not divided by being transferred or due to its weight. After scribing, the pair of substrates are attached to each other under reduced pressure, heat treatment for curing the sealant and aligning the liquid crystal is performed, and then the substrates are divided by applying impact using a breaking apparatus.
