A cylindrical roller bearing with an increased load carrying capacity. To achieve this, a gap present between a bearing box and a roller part and not used to absorb the expansion of rollers is reduced to accordingly increase the axial widths of the bearing box and the cylindrical roller bearing. A first side-surface (13A) on the one axial side of the bearing box (13) is at a position further toward axial outside from a centerline (Y2) between two roller parts (22A, 22B) than a second side-surface (13B) on the other axial side. Consequently, a gap (al) between the first side-surface (13A) and the roller part (22A) facing the first side-surface is set smaller than a gap (a2) between the second side-surface (13B) and the roller part (22B) facing the second side-surface.
