It is intended to improve the bitterness and aftertaste of a purified green tea extract. A purified green tea extract characterized in that: (1) the ratio of the sum of the contents of (A) myricetin, (B) quercetin and (C) kaempferol to the sum of the contents of (D) epigallocatechin gallate and (E) gallocatechin gallate ((A)+(B)+(C))/((D)+(E)) is from 0.0000001 to 0.010; (2) the sum of the contents of (D) epigallocatechin gallate and (E) gallocatechin gallate ((D)+(E)) in non-polymeric catechins is from 0.01 to 29% by mass; and (3) the ratio of gallate compounds in the non-polymeric catechins is from 0.01 to 49% by mass. |
