A midsole for footwear, and a steel shank used in the midsole are provided to provide various structure to a midsole and to improve the comfort of walking of a user. A midsole(100) for footwear comprises a midsole base(110) which is formed so as to correspond to the bottom of a shoe; a cushioning part(120) which is formed in the midsole base in order to correspond to the Yongcheon part; and a steel shank(130) which surrounds partially the cushioning part and is fixed on the midsole base, wherein the midsole base contains a penetration hole(112) corresponding to the Yongcheon part, and the cushioning part is provided through the penetration hole. |
