An apparatus and a method for generating a message are provided to enable a user is interested in interpreting the meaning of an image included in a reception message by converting a keyword into a selected image among various keyword-related images included in the message. A memory(110) stores plural keywords matched into one image. A controller(120) searches and displays at least one image, which corresponds to a keyword included in a message inputted through a message writing screen, from a memory and converts the keyword corresponding to a message into a selected image among the displayed images.
