PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal mechanism which is not restrained by a seal maintaining performance and by the ability to maintain the integrity when a device is moved inside a portal and prevents the loss of fluids (for example, the loss of a blow gas) caused by grooves generated around the device by movements in an extreme region of the device of a small diameter in the portal member.
SOLUTION: A surgical access apparatus includes a housing member, a portal member extending from the housing member to define the longitudinal axis, and a position adjusting mechanism provided relative to the housing member. The housing member and the portal member define a longitudinal passage which has dimensions to enable the passage of an elongated object and passes the inside. The position adjusting mechanism includes an annular element provided for rotational movements inside the housing member and about the longitudinal axis and first and second arm elements which are provided on the annular element and extend inwardly in the radial direction relative to the longitudinal axis.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
