摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a PTFE transfer film with excellent lubricity on a metallic surface in an atmospheric pressure circumstance, utilizing a reductive hydrogen gas, and a sliding member using the same. SOLUTION: The PTFE transfer film is formed on the metallic surface by sliding the PTFE in contact with a metal in a hydrogen gas atmosphere. Thus the sliding characteristics of the metal is enhanced by optimizing the composition of the metal and/or its surface roughness. In addition, the sliding member is made into a tightly closed structure by sealing, then the hydrogen gas of high purity is sealed or continuously blown into the tightly closed structure.
