METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PREPARATION OF ALDEHYDE

A method for preparing an aldehyde, and an apparatus for preparing an aldehyde are provided to prepare selectively the aldehyde used as a material for various products by controlling the ratio of a linear aldehyde and a branched aldehyde. A method for preparing an aldehyde comprises the steps of hydroformylating a synthetic gas comprising at least one kind of olefin, carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of a hydroformylation catalyst; and controlling the ratio of a linear aldehyde and a branched aldehyde by the isomerization of the produced aldehyde. Preferably the hydroformylation catalyst is a [C5Me5Rh(C2H3R1)2] complex, or a mixture comprising a [C5Me5Rh(C2H3R1)2] complex and propene, wherein R1 is C1-C20 alkyl group, a phenyl group or a silyl group represented by -R2Si; and R2 is a C1-C20 alkyl group.
