<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce charges when viewing a pay program again in a video-on-demand distribution. <P>SOLUTION: The digital content distribution system includes a digital content distributing apparatus having a content distributing means for distributing pay first contents and free second contents and a user information storage means wherein information relating to users is stored, and a digital content receiving apparatus having a content receiving means for receiving the first and second contents and a second content insert selecting means for a user to select viewing of the second contents while viewing the first contents. When the user selects viewing of the second contents while viewing the first contents, the digital content distributing apparatus refers to the user information stored in the user information storage means to allow the user to view the second contents while viewing the first contents, and performs charging processing to reduce the viewing charges of the first contents. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
