A method and an apparatus for managing downlink discontinuous reception operated in a wireless communication system are provided to prevent the wrong activation of a functional parameter when a user device enter a cell dedicated channel state. A method for managing downlink discontinuous reception operated in a wireless communication system comprises the steps of: requesting from a network terminal to establish a wireless resource control connection by activating the procedure for the establishment of wireless resource control connection(302); receiving a request allowance message including first and second information elements(304); and ignoring the second information element when a specific wireless resource control state is a wireless resource control state for dedicated wireless resource.
