PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscous fluid application method which enables a control of an amount of a viscous fluid to be applied with a high precision even with a long distance between a cartridge and a part to which the fluid is applied. SOLUTION: To begin application of a viscous fluid to a matter to which the fluid is applied, a supply cock 341 is opened to begin (t=t<SB>0</SB>) the supply of the viscous fluid by a supply unit 102 and then a discharge shaft 320 is rotated to begin (t=t<SB>1</SB>) the application of the viscous fluid by an application unit 101. To terminate application of the viscous fluid to the subject matter, the supply cock 341 is closed to terminate (t=t<SB>2</SB>) the supply of the viscous fluid by the supply unit 102 and then the rotation of the discharge shaft 320 is stopped to terminate (t=t<SB>3</SB>) the application of the viscous fluid by the application unit 101.
