A device for indicating whether a frozen food product 50 has thawed comprises an enclosure 10 encapsulating a fluid 20, said enclosure comprises means 30 to allow the fluid to escape from the enclosure on thawing to indicate thawing of the frozen food product. In a first embodiment the means comprises a hole, which may be covered with a flap, that allows the fluid to flow out of the enclosure on thawing. In a second embodiment the device comprises a second enclosure (130, Fig 2a) and the means comprises a passageway (150, Fig 2a) between the two enclosures that allows the fluid to flow therebetween on thawing. Thawing of the frozen food product is indicated by the emptying of the fluid from the enclosure. The application also discloses a method for manufacturing the device (Fig 3). |
