The toilet brush comprises a brush proper 1 provided with bristles and a handle 2 integral with or coupled to the brush proper so that a user may hold the handle to use the brush to clean the interior of a lavatory bowl without getting their hand wet. The brush proper has a cage 7 adapted to serve as a container for a toilet block. The block is exposed to water and dissolves and only when the brush is being used to clean the interior of the toilet bowl. The cage may define a cylindrical container for the block and may be provided with an opening 10, at one axial end 15 of the cage, closed by a plurality of fingers 16 past which a block may be pushed on loading, but which serve to resist removal of the loaded block. A loading device comprising a plunger, or piston, may be used to load the block axially into the cage to prevent the user contacting the block. Alternatively the bristle holder and head may be separated from the brush, the replacement block inserted and the bristle holder replaced or the block may be permanently held in the cage with the intention of disposing of the brush once the block is used. |
