<p>The light signal from the bright surface of the cut-off welded bead is used to control an apparatus which grips and turns the tube about its longitudinal axis so that it always enters the next machine with the welded seam in the same relative position. The apparatus comprises two or four continuous, concave-shaped bands, through which the tube runs and which are mounted in a housing that is rotatable by means of an electric motor. The bands may be faced with rubber, and are spring-loaded to keep them in contact with the tube.</p> |
