Copolymers are heated with di- or polyhydroxy-dithiol compounds, in presence of 5 parts by weight accelerator per 100 parts by weight polymer. Accelerator is cyclic ether.-(O-X)-n, where n is 4-10 and where R is H alkyl. Reaction affected in weak base- Na, Li or K salt of fatty acid or chlorinated phenol, and basic divalent oxides or hydroxides usually added. Method is improved version of US patent 6811704.
