<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch to an appropriate modulation system in comparison with a conventional system, for example, in a communication apparatus in which a plurality of modulation systems are switched to transmit a signal to an apparatus of a communicating party via a line. <P>SOLUTION: A line quality change direction detecting means 8 detects the direction of a change in the quality of the line on the basis of a received signal and when the detected direction of the change in the quality of the line is the direction where the quality becomes excellent, a modulation system determining means 9 determines a modulation system used for transmitting a signal on the basis of the quality of the line before the change but when the detected direction of the change in the quality of the line is the direction where the quality is deteriorated, the modulation system used for transmitting a signal is determined on the basis of the quality of the line after the change or before the change. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
