APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MECHANICAL TEST OF OPTICAL DISK SURFACE

An apparatus and a method for testing mechanical durability of an optical disk surface are provided to quickly and accurately classify the good or inferior by setting a practical standard value and reduce the inspection cost while improving the reliability. An apparatus for testing mechanical durability of an optical disk surface comprises a rotational plate(20) loading a disc to be scratched and rotating the disc, and two polishing wheels(10) which is formed on the rotational plate and contacted with the disc surface to generate scratch on the disk surface with a load less than 7.35N over 0.49N during five times of rotation of the rotational plate. The apparatus determines the durability of the disc by comparing a jitter value 10% with the jitter value measured from the disc in which the scratch is generated.
