An automatic machine for working materials in sheet form, particularly glass sheets, which comprises a supporting framework (2) that has a worktable (3) for supporting the sheet (4) being worked with suction cup elements (5,6) and a tool magazine (8). A frame (10) for supporting a working head (9) is associated with the framework (2), the head (9) being able to move above the worktable (3). A pick-up tool (20) that can be moved by the working head (9) is provided, to pick up suction cup elements (5,6) from a magazine (15) and position them on the worktable (3) and/or vice versa. <IMAGE>
