The actuator (2) has an actuator body with a set of ceramic layers (25). A set of electrode layers is arranged between the ceramic layers, where an electrode connection (28) is provided in the actuator. The electrode connection comprises a set of detention components (36) that are formed of ceramic material. The detention components are distributed over the electrode connection and are connected with the actuator body. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a piezoelectric actuator.
