Insecticidal phosphoric ester compositions stabilised against humidity. M5-. Contain as stabiliser an acid dyestuff soluble in one of the constituents, i.e. the phosphoric ester itself, a solvent thereof (hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons) or a diluent thereof (aliphatic alcohols, di-acids, esp. phthalic, sebacic and adipic acids). Suitable phosphoric esters are O-(2,2-dichlorovinyl) phosphoric ester (I) and O,O,-dimethylphosphoric ester. Suitable dyestuffs are hydrazonoquinone derivs. esp. 1-(4-phenylazo-phenylhydrazono)-1,2-dihydro-2-oxo-naphthalene (II), 1-xylylhydrazono-1,2-dihydro-2-oxo naphthalene, 1-alpha-naphthyl-hydrazono-1,2-dihydro-2-oxo-naphthalene, and bis-alpha, alpha- 4-(1,2-dihydro-2-oxo-naphthylidene hydrazo)-xylyl chlorotoluene. The stabiliser is present in 0.1-5 weight % pref. 0.3-2 wt.% based on the phosphoric ester. Other stabilisers may be present such as epoxy compounds esp. alcohol epoxy stearates and epoxy soya oil. The composition may be applied as a solid or liquid and is pref. supported on a porous or fibrous support such as a mesh evaporator. |
