<p>The invention relates to a process for making articles with overlapping glass layers, in particular a painting made by the melted glass technique. According to the invention, the process consists, in a first step, in making the art composition, on a paper carrier, by cutting out pieces of float and/or fusion glass, the desired images being then painted on the cut-out layers, by using powdered glass colours, further on, the coloured glass layers being overlapped, while inserting therebetween various materials, such as Ag, Au, stainless steel or Ni wires, Cu sheets etc., and then, the resulting assembly being baked at the temperature of 20...600A C for 30 min., at the temperature of 600...750A C for 10 min. and at the temperature of 750...800A C for 10 min., with holding periods of 10 min at the highest plateau temperature, followed by the slow cooling down, for 10 h, afterwards, the highly fine details being painted on the so obtained assembly which is then subjected to a new baking, at a temperature ranging from 500 to 680A C, for 60 min., and possibly, to a correction burning, at a temperature of less than 500A C, for 30...60 min., a self-adhesive reflective foil is applied on the back surface of the assembly, and finally, the assembly is attached to a wood, cardboard or leather carrier which confers it solidity and an adequate elasticity to ensure vibration damping.</p> |
