A multimodal biometrics system for improving fingerprint recognition capability is provided to improve the recognition ratio of a fingerprint identification system by considering the moisture ratio of fingers and to improve the security by classifying forgery fingerprint by using artificial fiber. A lighting-emitting unit and a receiving unit(42a, 42b, 44a, 44b, 46a, 46b) radiates near infrared ray. A controller(20) controls the lighting-emitting unit and the receiving unit for receiving the reflection light reflected from the front side of fingers and radiates near infrared ray toward the front side of fingers. A water measuring/determining unit(60) compares finger moisture information within a criteria range of fingers registered through a received finger moisture sensing signal. |
