The invention relates to a process for preparing heterogeneous ion-exchange membranes, comprising the following stages: preparing fine ion-exchange resin powders, screening the same, preparing a solution of 2...40%, preferably 10...25%, elastoplastic polymer consisting of chlorosulphonated polyethylene, followed by the fine filtration of the elastoplastic polymer solution, preparing a solution from a chemically inert non-volatile organic compound, preparing a cross-linking agent solution, finely homogenizing and filtering the resulting suspension, applying the same, as a film, on a temporary adhesion-proof carrier and fixing a reinforcing fabric made of thin polyesteric or polyamidic yarns on the film being in a plastic state, curing the film in the membrane structure by the slow evaporation of the volatile solvents and resuming the film-forming operation, as the case may be, finalizing the curing reaction and the solid-liquid extraction of the chemically inert non-volatile organic component, drying the membrane and removing the traces of solvent, conditioning the resulting membrane at a constant temperature and detaching the membrane from the adhesion-proof carrier before use, resulting in membranes of good mechanical strength and stability and low specific electric resistivity.
|
