The invention relates to an agent for removing the layer of copper for a propellent which basically comprises an atomized lead-free additive consisting of a mixture of tin and bismuth compounds, selected from the group consisting of metallic bismuth, bismuth alloys, bismuth compounds, metallic tin, tin alloys and tin compounds. For efficiently removing the copper deposits from a firing gun barrel, the agent for removing the copper layer may be mixed with any type of propellent, generating a minimum quantity of residue when burnt, by establishing a tin and bismuth content ranging between 10-62% Sn and 90-38% Bi, the optimal composition being 42% Sn and 58% Bi.
|
