A video search method using a text is provided to enable a user to search a video image conveniently and promptly by using texts and minimize the increase of system load caused by a motion detection operation efficiently. Partial regions within a video image and the texts corresponding to the partial region are databased. If motion change is detected in some regions, the search information for searching a recording position of a corresponding video image is stored in text. When a search operation is requested in text, the recording point of the corresponding video image is searched based on the texted search information a user selects.
