The prop (10) has a mobile plate (11) for supporting a full primary beam (33) of a support structure and varying by sliding the plate along a sliding rod (14) between formwork and formwork removal positions. A compression element (22) is activated in rotation by controlling passage of the plate from one of the positions to the other position, where the plate has diametrically opposite support elements (26a, 26b) around the rod. Each support element forms a receptacle with a width higher than the width of the beam and receives an axial section of the beam tangentially relative to the rod.
