<p>The invention relates to a process for planishing the continuously cast slabs and to a drawing and planishing machine. According to the invention, the process consists in planishing a slab, by rolling it in a semi-planetary mill stand, said slab being continuously cast in a chill and then led along the curved axis of a casting plant by a roller system to a drawing and planishing machine where a semi-planetary rolling takes place, resulting in the slab planishing and inducing a compression strain field in the boundary zones of the slab. The claimed machine for carrying out the process has a drawing roller segment (5) at the slab exit from the continuous casting plant and a semi-planetary mill stand (6), provided with some cylinders (7 and 8), namely a planetary upper cylinder and a solid lower cylinder, which takes over most of the planishing strain and induces a compression strain field in the boundary zones of the slab (1), as well as some drawing roller segments (9).</p> |
