A lockable gate latch (1) is disclosed. The latch (1) includes a bolt (2) incorporating a bolt groove (41), which can slide between a first, engaged position and a second, disengaged position. The bolt is biased (3) towards the first position. A locking means, including a locking pin (31), engages with the bolt groove (41) to prevent the bolt sliding. This is achieved by rotating the locking pin (31) which rotates a pin groove (40), that is profiled to allow the bolt (2) to slide past the locking pin (31) and it incorporated into the locking pin (31), away from the bolt groove (41).
