The ring has an annular rigid armature (1) associated to an antifriction bearing. A flexible sealing element (2) is associated to the armature. The element has radial and facial lips (3, 4) ensuring friction sealing contact during rotation of the bearing. A reticulation degree of a lip forming material is increased when the ring is subjected to ionizing radiation process e.g. beta radiation process, at a dose in the range between 100 and 200 KiloGray. An independent claim is also included for a method for forming a sealing ring.
