PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an erroneous judgement while enhancing a range of determination targets for a proper determination, when determining a NAT-type in accordance with the standard technical specifications. SOLUTION: In a NAT type judgement method pursuant to RFC 3,489, address information added to a binding response from a STUN server in response to a binding request issued in a latest transmission test is compared with address information added to a binding response in response to any transmission test executed therebefore. When the address information are not identical, a NAT-type is determined as being symmetric. Even when a router whose NAT-type changes frequently according to a use status is connected, communication is available, without a user having to manually set the change. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
