PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect a mobile unit outside a service area to a network side without installing a fixed station (relay terminal) communicable with a mobile phone by short range radio communication in the out-of-service area. SOLUTION: This communication method in out-of-service area is used for connecting the mobile unit 2 having a first communication means 12 using a first radio frequency to communicate with a mobile communication network and a second communication means 13 using a second radio frequency to communicate with other mobile machines from the out-of-service area to the mobile communication network. The mobile unit 2 outside the service area communicates with other mobile machines around using the second communication means 13, selects a mobile unit 3 serving as a relay station and when the mobile unit 3 of the relay station is outside the service area, the mobile unit 3 communicates with other mobile units around using the second communication means 13 and selects a mobile unit serving as the next relay station. When a mobile unit 4 in the service area is selected as the relay station, the mobile machine is connected to the mobile communication network using the first communication means 12 of the mobile unit 4 in the service area.
