PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a high definition output image by performing color gamut conversion processing using color information about a fundamental color. SOLUTION: Output color gamut information including the color information in a plurality of fundamental colors is generated by acquiring input color gamut information including input color information in the plurality of fundamental colors, color gamut information of an output device including output color information in the plurality of fundamental colors, information regarding kinds of color materials of an output device, and hue information about the fundamental colors of a standard device, using output color information included in the color gamut information of the output device about the fundamental colors corresponding to the color materials used for the output device and using the color information calculated from the hue information of the standard device and the color gamut information about the output device about the fundamental colors which do not correspond to the color materials used for the output device, and the color gamut conversion processing is performed so that the fundamental colors of the input color gamut information are mapped to the fundamental colors of the output color gamut information using the input color gamut information and the output color gamut information.
