PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat belt conveying device capable of sufficiently exhibiting large conveying ability and maintaining stable high load transmission for a long period of time. SOLUTION: An endless flat belt 20 is wrapped around knife edge-like belt support parts 11, 12 and a drive pulley 30. In the drive pulley 30, a projection is formed on a cylindrical outer peripheral surface wrapped around with the flat belt 20. An angle relative to an outer peripheral surface of a traveling direction side portion of the flat belt 20 of the projection is 90°or less. By action of the projection, drive force of the flat belt 20 can be enhanced, and by suppressing tension of the flat belt 20 to a low degree, resistance in the belt support parts 11, 12 can be reduced.
