PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing glass beads of various kinds in small lots at high energy efficiency and also in a short period of time by a direct process. SOLUTION: The glass bottle production apparatus is equipped with: a glass melting furnace; a temperature adjusting tank connected to the glass melting furnace via a throat; a cutting machine connected to the exhaust port of the temperature adjusting tank; and a forming device connected to the cutting machine via a charge chute. The glass melting furnace has an oxygen burner fitted downward to a ceiling wall, the oxygen burner is supplied with a combustion support gas having an oxygen concentration of≥90 vol.%, and further, a glass raw material and an auxiliary raw material are fed by gas conveyance. The oxygen burner is burnt downward, further, the glass raw material and the auxiliary raw material are fed downward into the flame to be melted, and the resultant glass melt is temporarily stored at the bottom part in the furnace, and is caused to flow out to the temperature adjusting tank via the throat as it is.
