PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupler which is fitted for preventing a tool from dropping in such a case as using the tool, wherein the coupler facilitates quick attachment/detachment thereof to/from the tool, and relaxes restriction to the external shape of the tool, to thereby expand the flexibility thereof. SOLUTION: The coupler is formed of: a fitting portion 2 which is obtained by coiling a spring material into one or more windings, and functions to fit onto a rod portion G of the tool W from an end of the same to pinch the same; a pair of lugs 3, 4 which are formed of both ends of the spring material protruding on an external peripheral side of the fitting portion 2, and function to expand/contract the fitting portion 2 by moving to/from each other; and a connection portion 6 which is formed on at least one of the lug portions 3, 4, for connecting a wire 5 thereto.
