Silent brake sections

To reduce or preclude squeaking, a silencer section is cast in having a natural vibration rate different from that of the brake section. Before insertion in the mould, the silencer section is provided with a separation layer preventing it from bonding with the metal of the brake section by melting or diffusion. Pref. the surface of the silencer section is plated with a metal having a high m.p. e.g. Cr or Mo.
