PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toner, wherein wax can uniformly dispersed in resin particles by means of a simple and inexpensive method, and a toner obtained by the method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a toner includes a step of preparing a resin solution by mixing a binder resin, a colorant and a wax into an organic solvent, a step of preparing an emulsion by heating the resin solution and an aqueous medium to a temperature of not less than a level allowing the wax to dissolve and less than the boilng point of the organic solvent and also mixing them, and a step of preparing a suspension by removing the organic solvent from the emulsion, aggregating and fusing the suspension.
