A METHOD, SYSTEM AND ROUTER FOR ROUTE SELECTION

A method, system and router for route selection are provided. The method includes: a router takes each of the multicast group address, multicast group mask and corresponding next-jump router address of the multicast group forwarding entry as input, computes with Hash algorithm respectively, and selects the next-jump router with the maximal result as the next-jump router corresponding to the multicast forwarding entry from multiple next-jump router addresses corresponding to the multicast forwarding entry. By using the multicast distribution tree created by the method to distribute the multicast data flow, the load for the multicast data flow could be shared.
