<p>A VOD controlling method, a client device and a switch controlling equipment. They belong to the field of the media playing technology. The method comprises: receiving a user's VOD command, selecting to add a multi-cast/broadcast channel of which the playing time is closest to the user's demanding start time, and receiving and buffering the video program data from the multi-cast/broadcast server; judging whether the difference between the playing time of the video program multi-casted on the multi-cast/broadcast channel and the user's demanding time is in the range of predefinded threshold, if YES, playing the buffered multi-cast or broadcast data. The client device comprises: a decoding output unit, an acquiring unit, a switch controlling unit, a uni-cast controlling unit, a uni-cast data receiving buffer unit, a multi-cast controlling unit and a multi-cast data receiving buffer unit. The scheme can realize to watch video program with users' need, and can use less server source and band width of the network.</p> |
