<p>Mono alkali salt of naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid is disproportionated to the di-acid, with the di salt as by-product by heating in water and the precipitated diacid recovered. This provides a technical route to the very pure di-acid, to be used for high quality polyalkylene 2,6 naphthalene dicarboxylate.</p> |
