<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compute, in a short time period, phase conversion quantities of laser beams that a spatial optical modulator converts. <P>SOLUTION: A laser beam intensity pattern-forming device includes; a first laser beam source; a first phase conversion means which converts spatial phase distributions of laser beams from the first laser beam source according to phase control information; a first Fourier conversion means which optically fourier-converts the laser beams converted by the first phase conversion means and outputs them; and a spatial light phase distribution computation part which computes the spatial phase distributions which the first phase conversion means converts.
