<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet-like microlens array designed so that both its surface and back can be flat while the function of the lens is maintained, and to provide a method for easily manufacturing a sheet-like microlens array both sides of which are flat. <P>SOLUTION: The microlens array has a resin sheet and a plurality of biconvex lens bodies embedded in the resin sheet. The manufacturing method for the microlens array includes the step in which drops of liquid containing hydrolysis polycondensate of a compound having a metal element or semimetal element are disposed in a plurality of recesses formed in the surface of a sheet-like first resin layer; the step in which the liquid drops are hardened by the application of heat, thereby forming biconvex lens bodies; and the step in which a second resin layer opposite a first resin layer with the biconvex lens bodies between them is formed so that the biconvex lens bodies are embedded in the resin sheet formed from the first and second rein layers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
