PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roof structure of a building having heat insulating and waterproof properties, by which breakage and exfoliation of a waterproof layer caused by a strong wind can be surely prevented. SOLUTION: The roof structure of the building having the heat insulating and waterproof properties comprises a heat insulating material (2) laid on a roof surface of a skeleton-side roof underlayer (1), and a waterproof layer (3) laid on an obverse side of the heat insulating material. The waterproof layer (3) is formed of a coating film of a urethane resin. An eaves edge section (10) is covered by the waterproof layer (3) covering from an upper surface of the heat insulating material (2) to an eaves' lower face (5) in such a manner that an eaves-edge-side end part (21) of the heat insulating material (2) and the eaves edge (11) of the roof underlayer (1) are encompassed.
