PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a predominant method and apparatus in which notches are not formed around the peripheral edge of a hole in the drilling of the glass to form the fine hole. SOLUTION: The surface of an objective material 1 comprising glass is covered with a protective layer 4 and an opening 40 for drilling is formed on a place of the protective layer 4 corresponding to a drilling part. An elute 2 eluting the glass is jetted from a nozzle 3 to be applied on the surface of the objective material 1 through the opening 40 for drilling with the impingement at pressure of≥5×10<SP>-2</SP>N/cm<SP>2</SP>and≤20×10<SP>-2</SP>N/cm<SP>2</SP>. The elute 2 jetted from the nozzle 3 is formed into particles having≥20μm and≤40μm which are smaller than the opening 40 of drilling.
