PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor, its gap adjustment method and its gap adjuster capable of making the gap in a direction along a side surface of a footstep approximately uniform and capable of performing the gap adjustment work in a short time without requiring removal of a skirt panel. SOLUTION: A gap adjuster 14 for adjusting a size of the gap between the footstep 10 and the skirt panel 12 comprises an approximately flat plate-like member capable of being detachably mounted to a side surface of the footstep 10. When the size of the gap between the footstep 10 and the skirt panel 12 is adjusted, the approximately flat plate-like gap adjuster 14 is firstly mounted to the side surface of the footstep 10. Subsequently, the skirt panel 12 is fixed to a fixed bracket 18 using an adjustment member 20, thereby, the size of the gap between the footstep 10 and the skirt panel 12 is adjusted to the size of the width of the gap adjuster 14.
