PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor capable of displaying a white color noise discriminatingly from an underwater object, even when the signal intensity of ultrasonic echo is equivalent to or smaller than the signal intensity of the white noise. SOLUTION: This sensor 10 is provided with a first detection part 31 for emitting ultrasonic pulses into water, and for envelope-detecting the ultrasonic echo reflected by the underwater object through the first filter 21, and the second detection part 32 for envelope-detecting the ultrasonic echo through the second filter 22, having a band width narrower than that of the first filter 21; degree of reliability R is calculated as the ratio of the signal intensity of an output signal from the first detection part 31 to the signal intensity of an output signal from the second detection part 32; and the density of a display color of the ultrasonic echo displayed on a display part 44 is changed, based on the degree of reliability R.
