METHOD FOR REDIRECTING AN MBMS SESSION

The present invention relates to a method for the redirection of a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) session in a communication system comprising a plurality of node layers, wherein the MBMS session is redirected from one node to another node in the same node layer, such that the MBMS session is not aborted. The advantage of the invention is that an MBMS session can be redirected form one node to another node without aborting the MBMS session and thus there is no need to initialise a new MBMS session when a node in a communication system fails.
