1313601 Hand stamps METO-GESELLSCHAFT OSCAR KIND mbH 9 June 1970 [10 June 1969] 27879/70 Heading B6D A hand stamp having a handle 24, Fig. 1 integral with a housing 9, comprises a number of endless type bands 1 trained over setting wheels 5 and a stationary support 10, the bands being provided over part of their outer periphery with stamping types 2 and over the remaining part of their inner periphery with driving projections 3 which mesh with the teeth of the setting wheels 5. The setting wheels 5 are provided with concentric guide slots 14 whose ends 11, 12 form stops co-operating with a strut 13, located in the side walls 7, 8 of the housing, to prevent the driving projections from contacting the support 10. The bands 1 are set by axial displacement of a setting shaft 15, Fig. 2, so as to bring a gear 17 into alignment with a setting wheel 5, whereby a detent 19 engages a groove 18 in the shaft 15 to locate the latter, and rotating a dial 16 to dispose a selected type 2 below the support 10. Visual indication of type selected is proffered by a slidable mirror 27. In a modification the slidable mirror 27 is replaced by types (33, Fig. 3) which are aligned with a pointer (35) when a selected type is disposed below the support 10. |
