<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive electrolyte membrane having proton conductivity and low methanol permeability, and to provide a fuel cell capable of providing high output. <P>SOLUTION: The electrolyte membrane uses a porous base material comprising polyamide or the like, contains a copolymer of 2-acrylamide-2-methyl propane sulfonic acid (AMPS) and 4-styrene sulfonic acid sodium salt (SSNa), and the copolymer is held in the pores of the porous base material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
